<<<In my defense, I didn't say women, I said stupid women. I can only think that women who believe they have never been hurt by the gun lobby, the nicotine lobby, the insurance lobby, or the religious right must be stupid. Of course, the other alternative is brainwashed.>>>

13:12- Patient began babbling incoherently about various well known public institutions conspiratorially having the objective of
hurting women.

<<<When I made the comment that there is no accounting for stupid women, I knew there would be an onslaught of ire. I just sat back and enjoyed it. Thank Asherah that there are many more smart and compassionate women than stupid ones.>>>

13:15- Patient displayed definite signs of heightened grandiosity
coupled with masochistic tendencies. Patient then began
mumbling to a pagan god, thanking her for conception of
females to his liking.

<<<gun lobby: relentlessly works toward one aim, to enhance the profitability of selling guns. Hence, no controls of any kind will ever be allowed by them. How many women's lives have been devastated by this blind worship of such a deadly phallic symbol?>>>

3:55- Patient moved from a state of mild paranoia to a frantic state of psychosis as demonstrated by his insistence that fire arms
are sexual aids.

<<<nicotine lobby: pushing the idea that tobacco will keep you thin -- and therefore acceptible as a human being. Who cares you rot from the inside out, as long as you're good to look at? Notice how many teenage girls smoke (and stink) these days.>>>

4:10 - Patient now has transferred his frustrations to a "nicotine lobby".

<<<insurance lobby: in a word, Viagra. Insurance carriers pay for men to get it up, but resist all efforts to require them to pay for birth control pills. This attitude permeates the health insurance business. It took an act of Congress (those busybody buttinskies) to make drug companies test their products for efficacy in women. Till then, all studies were done for men only.>>>

4:25 - Recommend sedation for patient who has now displayed rather
odd schizophrenic tendencies in that he has transferred his
personality from one that is upset with women to one that is
upset with Congress projecting that men and women have little
say in their coital and conception choices.

<<<religious right: what can I say? The god of monotheism, Yahweh, has always had it in for women, and that attitude has shaped the course of western civilization. The main objective of the prophets of Yahweh from post-exilic times forward has been the destruction of the goddess.>>>

4:54 - Patient administered mild dose of phenobarbital which initially brought him toward a controllable demeanor. Patient
still shows signs of dimensia and paranoia as he continually mumbles about Biblical characters from over 2000 years ago.

<<<Just read Kings 1 and Kings 2. All the kings of Judah and Israel (yes, the kingdom split during the reign of Rehoboam, Solomon's son, because Rehoboam -- well, that's going too far afield). Anyway, all the kings are described as either doing good or evil in the eyes of Yahweh. (By the way, whenever it says "the Lord" in the bible, that is a substitute for "Yahweh". When the priests decided no one could say his name, new copies of the scrolls replaced the name Yahweh with "the Lord.") There was only one criterion for ending up on the good side or the evil side: whether or not the king allowed the worship of other gods, including the goddess Asherah who was the goddess the women worshipped. Yahweh was the god of the militant men. (Yahweh Sabaoth, or Lord of Hosts, means "warrior god".) As time went by, goddess worship was associated with prostitution metaphorically) and was cited as the reason that the Judahites were taken into captivity in Babylon. When Cyrus let them go back to Judah and rebuild the temple, the Yahweh-only faction of the priesthood started pushing their "agenda."
They won.>>>

And just yesterday I thought it was wallace who said (correctly) that the holocaust responsibility was solely on the shoulders of those who perpetrated it--the Nazis, and *Not* Neville Chamberlain, who only wanted to appease Hitler. But with the case of the "gun lobby", wallace places the blame on them for "devastating" the lives of women.

Hey wallace: the blame for a murder lies soley on the shoulders of the murderer: Not on the axe, knife, car, or any other instrument capable of maiming a person - no, not even an arrow, a bullet, or an abortionist's vacuum.

wallace, do you also blame the devastation of the bombings at the World Trade Center, the Oklahoma City Federal Building, and the two US Embassies in Africa on the fuel-oil and fertilizer lobby????

The idea is to keep guns out of the hands of children and criminals -- as for everyone else -- use 'em but don't abuse 'em, and keep that safety on until you're seconds from pulling the trigger.

People murder other people, wallace. Let's keep the blame and responsibility where it belongs.

<<gun lobby: relentlessly works toward one aim, to enhance the profitability of selling guns>>

The NRA has been around far longer than the gun control issue. Until the late 1960's, the NRA was about (and still has much of its resources spent on) teaching the safe, responsible use of guns, hunting safety, and target shooting. It has never been about profits or selling guns. It has always been about responsible ownership of guns.

I make no comment regarding the motivation of gun manufacturers, but most people equate the term "gun lobby" with the NRA.
