What is OPS?? (Is it the projection factor to 162 games?)

Yes, I do hate those walks. Everyone(including me) can make a distinction between the 154 game season of Ruth and the 162 game season. But games aren't really the issue...AT BATS are. Should a future power hitter be slammed because he didn't have the supporting cast around him like Ruth and Maris did? I think not.

Not taking anything away from Slamming Sammy Sosa, but if he should surpass McGwire, one should remember that Sammy got an extra ONE HUNDRED OR SO At Bats this year!(McGwire is on pace for 160+ walks this year, with only 480 official AB. Sosa will push 600 AB, Maris got 590 AB, and even Ruth had 540 AB)

It is criteria like that which is why I still say that Jim Brown has the "rushing" record. If the NFL adds 2 games to the schedule, it will significantly dilute the meaning of a 1000 yard season. Brown did his feat in 12 games and averaged 5+yds/carry
