Gregg and all,

Something that I would like to remind everyone on this thread is that Qcom inability to produce worthwhile income was due partly due to the subscriber business problem, crack case, yield issues, minor cancellation of the Q-1900 phones from Korean and such. Doing the math it look like the revenue from this unit is about $450M in revenue (1.3M phone(450K per month) * 400 per phone my guess), which is significant compare to the overall revenue report in the last quarter. From last the CC we were told the problem is pretty much behind us and yield is constantly improving due the in house expertise brought in for the manufacturing side also was mention from the CC. I think the any slightly improving in the yield is going to fall right thru the bottom line. Assume Asic business unit is chuckling along with a slight improve situation in Korea, I think the next quarter and on is going to be great for the Q. Hence my reasoning that this price does not reflect the potential of this company. I am buying NOW!!!. And for anyone suggesting the Q is going to hit 30, dream on.

Gregg,

hate to be pourer of cold water but I have to live up to my new reputation as chicken little....

hosting friend from HK who just arrived to send daughter to college. They own a garment factory, mainly designer jeans. She said while Europe and US are "OK", Korea and Japan, which was responsible for up to 40% of their business, DISAPPEARED. I asked if this is temporary and what about future outlook? She said there is NO future outlook.

She also has never remembered sentiments, business, unemployment etc being ever this bad in HK, including 1982 when the first Deng/Thatcher talks were completed for the handover.

In the mean time, the yen is going up against the USD some more. Who is playing what game? I wish I know.

The market is going no where, no until the Asian flu bug is wiped out.

Ramsey

Re: ERICY news from Japan.

I am surprised the market has not seen this ? What happened to market efficiency, particularly in this internet age.

Do you think some of the pressure on QCOM could be from hedge funds raising cash to settle margin calls on other positions ?

Thanks.
