Maybe. But if they are walking him now, how about when he gets to 59 homers or so? Who wants to give up those record home run balls? There will be so much more pressure on him too. I hope he does it, but it will be tough.

By the way, I've never liked the fact that a BB isn't an at-bat. In my opinion, only an intentional walk should take away an at-bat. Yes, I know it is easy to throw an intentional walk without it actually being one, but conversely there are many walks where the player had like 5 or 6 swats at a potential home run (or hit), and how that at-bat can never exist I'll never know.
