Michelle, you bring out an interesting point. Staying in a bad marriage for the sake of money is truly a fear-based position. When men (or women, equal opportunity) of the religious right say they can't afford to get a divorce, then I know they don't really believe in god (Yahweh), because if they truly believed that "the Lord" is their shepherd (I shall not want), then they wouldn't remain in a marriage made in hell for the sake of money.
