I didn't think anything was getting in or out because of UP's traffic breakdown!

In any event motion pictures, music, pharmaceuticals, chips, software, etc, don't go out from San Pedro. Alot of high-tech gear goes out of LAX, and much of it is manufactured off-shore through contract manufacturers.

Life as we know it didn't end in the late 1940's when most of the develop world lay in ruin and the US was the only economy left breathing. In 1947 the market went through similar deflation fears we have now, US bonds were trading at something like 2.5%, and it set up the great bull market of the 50's. So who knows.
