Axel,

>>Any thoughts on Banker's Trust (BT)? I know they are fairly exposed
internationally, but right now they are yielding 4.78% and they seem
cheap. How do you see the risks?<<

I have been bearish on the brokers and banks for quite some time now on a long term valuation basis. I suspect that most of their good profit margins are tied to the most favorable environment possible. Underwriting volume is high, interest rates are low, deals are enormous and plentiful, credit is loose, good trading results have been easy to get, commissions are high, markets WERE cooperating etc... I am not that familiar with BT though. I would be happy to look because many banks and brokers are down 30% or more from their peaks. At some level they will get me interested again.
