Does that five bucks include those SRAM chips purchasing, inventory and handling costs, not to mention on MOBO assembly (stuffing, soldering), test and non-100% yield costs? Still, the sad part is that they are sooo far away in terms of access and cycle time compared with L2 cache being seamlessly in with the CPU.
