Hans, If you feel like you want to sell you shares post-split and aren't able to, I believe you can "short-against-the-box". Normally used for tax purposes investors do this to protect gains without actually selling a position and paying capital gains tax on it.

Hans, depending on how trading goes for the next week (assuming that DELL performs well into the split), I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10-15% drop in the price sometime shortly after the split.
