Last

will be nice to have a thread devoted to position trading. In the current market I can think of no better way to have piece of mind. Would rather be golfing than watching the monitor anyway. If there is anything I can do to help out please ask

Scott,

Thread is bookmarked, and will contribute where possible, and will continue to learn from you as I have done in the past.

Good luck with this thread, coach,

ls, been a while, I see you got 18 messages to answer now :} Do you have a modified "dogs of the dow" buying plan? I was looking at Index puts and calls and suffered from sticker shock! My idea is to buy a basket of calls from the better 10 of the DOW 30 would be most productive. Also in a down trend, buy puts of the weakest 10. Just a thought.

Mr. Shadow,

Congratulations on the debut of this erstwhile thread. In consideration of, well, most of the rules, I'd like to throw out SMOD as a long candidate when the timing is right. The upside should be well worth the effort of this thread's endeavors
(too soupy??? too stiff??).

Hello Last,
A few questions which might fit into the thread.

-What are your thoughts on stocks which hold well on mkt sell-offs, especially on lower avg. vol.? Does this aid near-term strength?
-How about a lesson in determining short-squeezes w/ charts and how short ratios can help our analysis?
-Last Fall you noted that tax-loss selling and then Jan. effect buying were taking place sooner due to Fund Mgrs. Are we seeing Oct. early?
-Do you have any opinion about Goldman-Sacks IPO and the influence they might submit on the mkt to ensure its success?

TIA for any thoughts. Sorry about the length.
Regards, Tobacco
