I seriously doubt if there were that many shorting out there today. That's just a bull dream. The majority was REAL selling IMO, period. If portfolio mgrs want to hedge the chosen method is put buying. Short interest actually declined on both the NASCRAP and NYSE in August. We're going alot lower and there will be very little buying power from "short sellers." There aren't even that many shortsel;ling firms around anymore. The bull put most of them out of business a long time ago. Only the best are left. -Lucretius
