Darkgreen,

Oct of 1987 was much worse. It was the first big drop my growing mutual funds had been in. Sold zero, traded zero, bought more as I could-some of those funds were $50.00 a month automatic deduct.

Friends were unloading---they did not talk about pain it was real fear and concern next month it would be their house. I kept a regular purchase plan and added when I could. Still have them all-even Janus Venture that was hot back then but has stayed cold for a long time.

All of that to say today was a great buying day. Personally I thing the bottom has not been reached...There is quite a history regarding Oct. sale days for the market.

The important thing for new people to realize is that TBR is a
world class opportunity not often repeated and the underlaying value is still there and intact...How much money have people made who held tough since 1987.??. Fifteen years from now this hard to handle decline is only going to be a blurp on the old graph and every nervous person today will be in the chips.

This drop has added an interesting development at the home front. Wife gets up and goes SHOPPING. Knows I can't say much as I have been buying TBR at most new lows.. some good to everything.

Steve is a true believer in TBR and probably had a limit order in somewhere or is going to have to hustle when he returns.

Still paying up front but cash has really dropped. If TBR goes under 70 tomorrow an going to purchase on margin and look around to see who handles leaps around here Too much quality in TBR to pass this one up.

Wish I knew how to play the ups and downs but as my loan officer pointed out in 1982, "If we are such a conservative bank why do you have so many spec houses you cannot sell?"

Mark/Steve, I am excited. This market will turn but it may not even start up prior to the new year. Am going to average down to under 85 and ride this hummer right on up. We are a few waves ahead of the smart money on this one for sure so long term remains my thinking.

Thanks for previous assistance. By noon tomorrow the 5th wheel will be behind the truck,(tired Ford as my Dodge money is in TBR) and we are off for 3 days. Do these low points truly develop character or
just a numbing of the senses? Wish everyone well.
