Stockman, I believe you misinterpreted the statement from news.com about AMD's pricing:
...Instead, AMD is pricing its chips to ensure that a computer built around an AMD will cost less than a system built around the closest Intel competitor.

An AMD system with a $180 chip is less expensive than an Intel system with a $180 chip because of lower motherboard costs. What the statement above says is that the "discount" no longer needs to be as big as 25%. Your conclusion,

("AMD will now be selling their chips more than 25% below the Celeron")

is bogus. I expect the K6-2-350 to sell at parity to the Celeron-333a and the K6-2-333 to sell at 20% discount to it.
