Argentine bolsa head says selling "unprofessional"

BUENOS AIRES, Aug 27 (Reuters) - The head of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange said investors acted in an ''unprofessional''
way in dumping Argentine shares, which dived more than 10 percent on Thursday amid growing concern about Russia's economic
crisis.

Eugenio de Bary, president of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, told journalists big investment funds were selling ''without
thinking'' to recoup losses made in other markets.

Argentina's stock market dived 10.63 percent on Thursday, the largest percentage decline of Latin America's major markets, amid the global fall-out from Russia's
escalating economic crisis.

''I think this way of operating is absolutely very unprofessional, and at some given time the investment banks will have to do something with regards to it,'' de Bary
said.

The decline Thursday left Argentine stocks at their lowest in 39 months.

De Bary said the current low stock prices should be considered ''a gift.''
