Sonki. Got up for some water and decided to check the futures and saw your post. Hm, Globex is down again. About your question on Msft and Dell. First a link about my reduction of margin:

Message 5556671

You can see that I did not sell Dell but did sell Msft that same day just before the market closed. Reasons for choosing Msft: It gave me another quick reduction of my margin and it has a lot of controversy at this time. I thought that I could pick it up again in the low 100's. The way things are going I may just get the chance. Little did I know last Friday that things would turn out that bad. I was even prepared to pick Msft up again at the same price or a bit higher if the market was going to make its move up.

Better get back to sleep if I want to see the early action today.

Too bad about that HWP engineer. That would not happen to me and I am still holding my HWP. I just like to check and stay on top of things but my motto still is: You only live once, enjoy it. Stocks go up and stocks go down. Sometimes it's easy come and other times it's easy go. gg.

Sonki and all. Good thing this week is over judging by those many posts on here today. gg. We all need a fine tooth comb to go through all that BS we are hearing out there. Maybe things will get better on Monday when those 2 strong leaders have their meeting. But just in case that is not enough, here are 2 opposite statements on the market:

Abbey Cohen says the sell-off is overblown by 8 to 10% and she is sticking to her year end target of at least 9300. That's the good news.

The bad news is Jerry Favors, the DOW Theory guy. He was on CNBC around 3:45 when the DOW was at around 60. He comes on every Friday around that time. He has decided to go short yesterday and when pressed for his possible low target for the DOW: 6000. I did not catch his time frame but Since he went short yesterday I am sure it's not by the year 2000. gg. Really not funny. I am sure they will be touting his call for the rest of the day on CNBC.

If anyone is interested in that better scenario, Abbey Cohen is on CNBC's Business Center at 7 pm EST.

Alright Sonki. This is for you. One analyst was asked what he thought about PFE and what his target was. He said he could see PFE as a 150 to 200 stock in the next cpl of years. You may want to reduce your cash in your IRA with some more PFE if that time horizon is not too long for you. You do know that Europe is on board now for sometime in the fall with Viagra. And sev. new other drugs are on the market now and PFE will be partnering with more cos. Not takeovers, just developing or distributing new drugs. Merck looks pretty cheap again. But who knows what is cheap anymore in this market.

I ventured into Zapata again today. Sure hope I don't get zapped. gg. I had sold out at 23 1/2 after buying in at 15 and under 12 it looked enticing again. I am not touting that stock. May be risky. I just mentioned it to tell you that I did buy something today. I may regret it. Sigh. Did you buy anything? Csco, Msft, CPQ, Intel etc. look mouthwatering but I may stay on my diet a bit longer. How about that TBR. Brazil is on a buy list again. Glad I went out of JPM just in time. They have another 160 Mill. to digest from Russia. That's not bad. But how about Latin America. I hear that they are No. 4 there. I think I read that correctly somewhere, maybe in the WSJ.

Let's see what Monday brings. One of those overseas markets will be closed though on Monday. We may be on our own on that day. I guess we can listen to the speeches in Russia. The market generally goes up when Mr. Clinton travels and I am sure he is looking forward to travelling.gg. Let's see if it works this time around.

Hope that everybody will have a nice weekend.

Sonny
