Along time ago and I dont remember how long there was a law passed by the SEC.When a person took out an account with a Stockbroker then the broker was required to ask you if you wanted Information released to a third party regrading the fact that you owned "XYZ" Stock. If you didn't want the info released then you could say so. Sorry but I can't remember whether you had to sign to prevent the info being released or if you didn't sign it would be released.

Since then I have opened different accounts and was not asked the question. This does not mean that it isn't part of the papers you sign and by doing so allows that info to be released.

Perhaps there is a Broker here who can answer that question or someone can ask their Broker.
