One reason I asked is that I went to college with someone who is now a Professor of Marine Biology (icthyology) at Oregon State. But I think maybe he got there after you...probably mid eighties.
Actually I did a considerable amount of diving in the Channel islands myself back in the 70's. First off the Sea Venture to Santa Barbara Island, Catalina and later mainly around Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel.
Water sure is a lot warmer in the tropics, where I live now.
I've got a couple Nikonos IIs I've haven't used for years.
Video is the way I'd go if I got back into UW photography.
I've owned various boats over the years and we even have a couple SeaDoos...I'd like to sell.
