Global markets continue their slide-- Grmany is approaching that trend line where if it breaks it may head much lower nearly 4775, I would think that this is the major major support on the channel back from Sept 97-- this also will constitute a major plus 60% correction of what was a big move 4400 to 6200 from Jan 1st 1998. Good value being created.
CAC-40 is heading towards that 3675 support and I expect it to hold that level...this is also a 50% and change correction from Jan 98 move 3100 to 4400 nearly..

I see Japan entering in a area of relative security-- we will see flight to quality to Japan very soon- non performing assets may be preferred to highly strategically suspect assets- in light of my previous posts today you may read in between what I am trying to say, time to go long in japan is fast approaching..

So will ASEA- and Latin America as Europe pressures mount-- the globe will not be left for Russian bears to walk about and prowl as they please, these markets will come. As a futurist I look into things never talked about or raised this is my speciality I hope you will forgive and overlook if anythings hurt your sensitivities, my thread is basically a forward looking thread and we try to highlight things still under wraps, it will not be much later you will hear this from WSJ stories..

I have to be on my way to South for weekend- the life goes on whatever or wherever the markets heads but I will try to keep in touch with the thread. Ray and myself discuss the threshold level of taking equity pains in my opinion it is the level where your lifestyle and your children start getting affected, if this ever happens cut your exposure to the market but otherwise just look at these up and downs as another day, this is going to be another yeo yoe and be prepared for it but I assure you markets are only fun if you don't start thinking in terms of your profit thinning as actual wealth lost- Time is the biggest friends of long term investor- you ask me one thing that distinguishes Warren Buffet over others it is the time span he works on, enjoy your trades, limit your universe and get into RUT around these levels for a period of 2-3 years you will never go wrong. With love and gratitude.

Re: Straw Dogs

This is bears day- and I concede and congratulate all the bears for calling a great dip working and talking about it since Oct 28th, it was 5200 level than now they are more modest happy on 7500.

How gracious of you.

I think one would do better to "concede" the bears their couple of months (in which you have had some limited participation, to be fair).

It is... well... unrigorous to lump some very good analysts together with the permabears. Acampora, for instance. One can hardly call him a long-term bear, and his recent call looks better and better. He calls for the overall decline to reach 15-20%, with the washout in the late September-mid October window. He made that update before yesterday's decline.

If, BTW, you're looking for an analyst on SI who has, without being a permabear, performed excellent analysis, look no further than Don Sew. You remember him, don't you, Iqbal? He used to be on this thread until he realized he wasn't welcome. I don't know if you deign to check the "Tech Stock Options" thread, but his calls are there for anyone to see.

Overall, you still deserve credit for some good guidance during the year. I look forward to your analysis. You'll forgive me if I look for the Almighty's gifts in more places than one. :-)
