Red, The huge "eagle" located at the center of Wanamaker's lst floor was a famous meeting place for people. I was fresh out of school, new to city living, sharing an apartment with my older sister.....lst time we made plans for dinner & shopping I said to her "let's meet at that big "pigeon". To this day, my sister roars with laughter and repeats the story, whenever anyone mentions Wanamakers.......is it still open?? Great city.....always had a feeling of awe whenever I was in the Independence Hall area.....& touching the crack in the Liberty Bell(believe that's no longer allowed). Driving in the Schuylkill Expressway traffic wasn't such a thrill as I recall:o).....but I've many other wonderful memories of Philly. Ann
