Russia

Isn't it comforting to know that Boris and Bill will be meeting next week to solve all the problems .

They are such great leaders and problem solvers.

I say.......... CALL IN MICHAEL AND LET HIM RUN THINGS FOR A WHILE !!

<--OT-->Russia - Absolute nonsense.

TigerPaw,

Let me put it to you this way,Russia is no economic power house,it never was and is not now.If it wasn't for the old nuclear weapons lying around they would be nothing,economically speaking. As an example India has more foreign currency reserves than Russia,their current account deficit is more than India,their foreign debt is more than India,and finally their GDP is not any bigger than India's at approx.300-400 billion dollars.So there you have it, so all this hoopla about Russia created by the media and financial pundits are plain old B.S to shake off the weak hands for an easy killing. Now you do the math....

PS: I am looking for more info on Russia's economic 'might',if I find it I will post it here later.

TigerPaw,..***Off Topic***

A very good and clear discussion of the Russian affect on world markets is at the following URL. It is from a global trader who has an uncanny understanding of global markets and economic fundamentals.

<-OT->All about Russia -Much Ado About Nothing-Macroeconomic indicators.

TigerPaw:

As promised here is the most recent macroeconomic numbers from Russia's own Central Bank. The data is the most current and is for the first half of 1998. As we can tell from the numbers it is absolutely silly to worry about Russia's economic impact on the U.S economy . Like I said before India's macroeconomic numbers are hell of a lot better than Russia and if India went into similar trouble I wouldn't think anybody would shed any tears now would they????

Oh that is ok you can buy me that beer later.<gggggggg>
