Sao Paulo, 28 - The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has no plans to change the already announced schedule for the auction of the so-called telecommunications mirror companies, which should compete with the privatized Telebr s holdings after being sold. The edict for tender will be published on September 3rd. However, there are rumors that the international crisis could keep
investors away. Even though, "changing the dates would be shooting our own foot", a
source to the agency said.

The government has 11 privatization auctions slated for the period through November. State-owned companies and concessions will be offered for a minimum
price of US$8bn. (O Estado de S. Paulo/ Jornal da Tarde)
