Jim, Microsoft's Access database users and Oracle users are not the same. Personal Oracle is prohibitive to small business due to its high price. Also one needs a degree in engineering to set up and administrate Oracle. I believe that Oracle controls most of the data in the world through big databases (data warehouses) whereas Access is used by many to view and manipulate Oracle.

A Microsoft's Access comparison to Oracle is like comparing apples and oranges.

Microsoft's SQL Server competes with Oracle on the smaller scale? SQL Server has been very successful. It has gobbled up a lot of the Internet with its Active server pages.
