Good news- 4 of G-7 countries steps up to help Russia.

LoD:

I didn't think the countries of the developed world was going to sit around and see Russia go down the toilet for obvious reasons and I am sure in due course other will join including the U.S. Here is confirmation.

Excerpts form CNNfn:

BONN, Germany (Reuters) - The finance ministers of Europe's four biggest economies offered their close cooperation Friday in dealing with Moscow's currency and debt crisis in a letter to acting Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin.

The letter -- signed by German Finance Minister Theo Waigel, France's Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Britain's Gordon Brown and Italy's Carlo Azeglio Ciampi -- said full implementation of the reforms the IMF agreed to offers the best way for Russia to return to growth and stability, the Bonn Finance Ministry said.

"This is the only way to restore the confidence of international financial markets," the Finance Ministry said in a statement on the letter.
