Doug,

Relative to you, I believe I'm more interested in NN's fundamental business - its products, its customers and its competitors. I'm less interested in some random squiggles on a chart.

However if squiggles interest you, look at the relative performance of NN with the S&P between Aug, 96 and Sept 1997: a little more than double. (All I'm suggesting is that by carefully selecting the start and end points for a comparison, anyone can prove anything one has already decided is a "fact".)

I don't know what current sentiment is. Nor do I know how often current sentiment is correct. I do know that when economists are unanimous that Event X is about to happen, then the precise opposite is what will actually occur. Every time.

The sell off is contrary to your belief that the U.S is isolated from the economies of the global Village.

Do you know of any other beliefs that I have which are equally unknown to me and as contrary to what I thought I believed?

I think I believe that NN has leading edge products which have been accepted by the market place and that will fuel NN's growth going forward.

I further believe that by a number of valuation measures, NN at today's price represents an outstanding opportunity for market outperformance going forward.

But do feel free to correct me if you know that my beliefs are actually different. ;-)

Ian.
