You are comparing orange to apple. the reason that IBM was down big time then was due to fundamental changed when the mainframe was out of favor and other big problems Surrounding them that forced IBM to restructure and had a painful layoff and brought in a new CEO. Things started to turn around. The situation is much different for CSCO. If you really did your homework you will find why CSCO deserves high PE at this moment and going forward. Hey, I really wish you to hold your shorts through $40 pre-split as you said and I bet you may lose your pant. Good luck to you SL
