John Chen;

I am watching CNBC and you would think this is 1929 and the beginning of the crash. Technical analysis shows that the Dow is moving downward to at least 7390 but they really believe that 6000 will be reached. What's a poor slob to believe? The sky is falling.
We must be going into deflation and Fed Funds must go to 3 1/2% to keep the economy from caving in. If you want an underlying reason, its all due to Monica! I think we are near the bottom, now.

William,

I wish I could share your optimism. Many say our HDD capacity has overrun the market needs and no one can predict the time of correction.

Now that's true for the desktop (the lion share of the HDD demand) but not necessarily true in the enterprise where there is never enough capacity. The enterprise segment is picking up for Seagate and that's good 'cause that's were the margins are.

Regards,
LT
