Digitcom is poised to take advantage of the current world economic crisis... 1) People still need to communicate regardless of how bad things are. Granted, they make communicate less, but when they do...they will seek out the most cost effective way...which IP Telephony offers. 2) The transition to IP Telephony will only be accelerated if/when the financial crisis continues. People will be looking for ways to reduce costs and cut corners where ever they can. This is especially true for the international markets for both FAX and Voice. 3) The pressure for major Telcos to grab a part of the IP Telephony Market will intensify as they see the shift occurring. Deals, acquisitions, mergers, buyouts, etc, etc, etc...is all part of the game being played now and in the future. Bottomline...Digitcom IMHO has many potential avenues for sourcing if need be. Be willing to bet DGIV has been courted by some major players looking to enter/expand into the IP Telephony market ( I know this sounds like hype, but it is my view) 4) The emerging markets (Russia, Indonesia, etc.) represent a major current and future growth opportunity for Digitcom. In many cases overseas phone calls are at outrageous prices. Digitcom has contracts with the governments and local telcos allowing IP Telephony to be offered instead. The government, the telcos, and the customer all benefit. Given the current financial situation, I suspect much of this will be done on a CASH basis. The opportunity to make money in these markets is NOW and not just when these countries recover. 5) If you are thinking I view Digitcom as a potential long term defensive stock, you are right! These are all my personal views and I could be wrong (or right ...hehehe). Judge for yourself.
