This is the first time an ericy official has publicly proclaimed that it is willing to reward QCOM for its CDMA contribution. Deducing from that the only issue that remains is the price.

Re: grain of salt

Surprised that such a "major announcement" hasn't received more mainstream press (BizWire, Reuters, DJ, etc.).

We need a whipping boy today. I nominate Marc Cabi:

(I can't link to this b/c it is on my ILX)

Basically, ERICY upgraded its forecasts for handset demand growth in the next two years, to 265 million units worldwide. E said growth should be especially strong in TDMA.

Cabi reiterates strong buy based on new figures, along with Nokia, who "stand to benefit through their TDMA handset product portfolio."

Hey Marc, check the latest handset growth figures from Dataquest and their predictions on TDMA v. CDMA growth. Quit using the companies you are supposed to cover to give you support for your rec.

Please, whip away, take out that frustration and aggression.
