Hi Rick,

>>Check out Gateway. I've got a Solo Laptop that I love,<<

I use a Gateway Solo, the 9100 LS. For use in my office (at home) I have it connected to a VX900 monitor, 19 inch screen. Since it is snapped into a docking station, it is really easy to take away for travel. I use an external keyboard and mouse with it in the office, and also an external USR 56KFlex modem, which I find is more compatible with my local isp, and much faster...usually at 50-52 speeds....than the internal X2 Telepath modem ( which will all be moot in a month when I can connect with Time Warner's RoadRunner cable internet at about 100x normal speed) With 96 RAM and a Pentium 266MHz, it responds quite nicely.

I have been really pleased with the quality of Gateway's support and customer relations.

My second computer is my upgraded Compaq Presario with a Pentium 200 MHz and 48 RAM plus a 17 inch monitor. This is connected to a separate isp line, and this way I can maintain my pcquote real time and level 2 with real time intraday charts on the lap top and 19 inch monitor, and browse the web and do research on the Compaq machine.

Additionally, a small television gives me CNBC news right at hand. All in all, my office looks like a mall electronics boutique to those who enter it. I have been able to soften the visual affect of my office though, and thus my own internal state, through the placement of a splendid tall bamboo palm, a few lush Boston ferns, and some cut flower arrangements. The music helps too (I am not one of those who believes that a spartan and neutral atmosphere is more conducive to concentration and focus...at least not for me...others perhaps)

Add Jennyanydots (my kitty cat) and the bunny slippers with long floppy ears, and all is well (best to keep the cat off the keyboard during trades)

Best Wishes,
Charliss
