Without the dress, would Clinton have confessed? He has managed to dodge every bullet sent his way, due to a complete lack of physical evidence. Without the dress, there was no evidence, and the Democrat machine would have rolled over this mess too.

Without the tapes, would Nixon have had to resign?

he probably thought he could stall until the end of his term based on the speed of the Starr investigation.

As it stands, if it werent for all these "leaks" generated by Starr, we would know very little about what was going on.
