Kiriyenko tried to milk the wealthy, including the big 7 (Gazprom).
He was finished quickly. Perhaps that's the reason. What now? We'll
see. Does not look optimistic, but 90% down in 10 months is more than
the US stock market collapse in 1929-1933.
Surely, stock prices reflect that pessimism. Also, I don't think Hungary is in any way responsible
for a 45% drop in their stock market. Russian stock market is
2% of GDP. US market was 150%, less now. Dominoes are falling.
Now they don't think Latin America will fall... Does not make sense
to short Japan, SEA, or Russia now. Valuations are low.
