Rick

"weeping uncontrollably"

That's very funny. I'm too young to remember the speech live, but I've seen it on tape, and I was mesmerized by King's style. I was far from weeping.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and call this poetic license.

The last time I was weeping uncontrollably I was looking at my portfolio today.

Rick,

Yeah, I'm sure he "wept", just the way he did at Ron Brown's funeral....<vbg> He really is becoming a more and more pathetic figure..... bp

What an odd reaction to that speech. It was so positive, up beat, made you want to go out and do something, not weep uncontrollably.
Key word is uncontrollably. He does have a little self control problem.

OT -
Doing a little undercover spying on the enemy tonight. Going to Duluth to a Peter, Paul, and Mary peace rally concert. I'll try not to get into any fights. Will report later.

I fear Mr Clinton is lying. Again.

Come on. It's not lying. It's creative recollection, like his recollection of black churches burning.

Clinton's mantra : "to live is to lie, to lie is to live."

(Hey, I just made that up. Not too shabby, huh?)

<< Questions for the thread: How many of you actually believe the "weeping uncontrollably" part?>>

What? You don't believe the guy who is trying to sell you the bridge to the next century? I weep uncontrollably that this jerk is in office.

See his blah, blah yesterday where he goes on about stopping in a New York kitchen during his first campaign to talk to a waiter? Smelled like when he was supposedly approached by a group of GIs in Bosnia so they could tell him how being there was great.

He also went on about putting the internet in all the schools. Our school district filed for federal funds to put in the internet and was approved. Spent 3/4 of a million bucks and then were told the money went to another district. Bet it was a democratic district.

The president recalled "weeping uncontrollably'' as he watched the speech on television when he was 17.

********************************************************************

He has a remarkably convenient memory. He may have seen the speech, but he was crying because his favorite show, "To Tell the Truth," was preempted. I wonder why many people who are usually skeptical of Clinton accept his claims that the attacks on Sudan and Afghanistan were justified, when the timing was so beneficial to him.

He remembers weeping uncontrollably in 1963 but he can't recall being alone with Monica Lewinsky.
