I disagree Ed, if a buyout happens at these levels the small investor will be reamed, however the XOMA BOD, management and other insiders will probably do very well. Long term I think this type of rip off of small investors will exact it's own karmic toll on the larger pharms. There are damned few small investors willing to invest in bio today, if XOMA gets bought out for peanuts then this will be one more lesson learned. Eventually the big pharms will have to start underwriting their own R&D, and that will cost them billions! When you do your homework and are right on the science and yet still lose money, you would be a fool to invest in this sector.
Hope I'm wrong.
