***LBP, but a bit on topic*** Wow! Down more. $45 today. With all the slavering excitement over Clinton and Lewinski, people overlook the Washington monument. It doesn't represent a giant toothpick you know, despite the demand for Xenical in the USA. The ego and sense of virility men need to get to the Presidency is likely to lead them astray in use of power. Also to enjoy their attractiveness to women. The abuse of power is taken care of in the constitution. Demonstrated by Ken Starr, Congress, Senate and Justice threats to impeach Clinton. But the constitution doesn't say much about the other. In fact, the Washington monument seems positively to encourage it. I liked it better when Clinton was controlled constitutionally and feeling pretty virile. With Yeltsin and Clinton drooping, no wonder the markets are taking a dive. Something in people seems to like their leaders robust and even a bit swanky. Unfortunately, along with that seem to come the mistresses and military attacks on their own or other people. We have a little obelisk on One Tree Hill, only 20 metres or so tall so quite unprepossessing compared with Washington's. Maybe we should build a monster one and thereby increase our GNP. Meanwhile, [haven't read the thread yet so no doubt there is ranting and raving about it], the threats to confiscate Qualcomm's property remain. With this comment reported: "Ericsson is ready to reward Qualcomm for its contribution in developing the CDMA technology and make some kind of compromise, said Nilsson." This turkey Nilsson and the drooling socialist bureaucrats of Europe need to be told to get stuffed. Ericsson is irrelevant and if they aren't more appreciative than that comment suggests, should be left out in the cold. If Europe doesn't want to use cdmaOne and cdma2000 concepts invented and developed by Qualcomm, then they should be ignored as an atavistic gang of Neanderthals. If they try to steal the property, then the USA will no doubt demonstrate a bit of military muscle and perhaps re-engineer a couple of EU buildings in Brussells. Libya seems to recognize that the USA and Britain have had enough. Britain will support Qualcomm and a deregulatory approach when push comes to shove in the EU. Powerful, swanky, virile guys like Clinton and Yeltsin don't go quietly into the night. I suspect Yeltsin's virility is a little dulled by his Vodka, but the personality remains. Qualcomm will get all the support needed by the USA government. And New Zealand, complete with our little obelisk. Okay, off to read the thread. Are you all having fun still? These Big Dippers do gather some speed. White knuckles yet? I admit to a bit of nervousness now. Fears being converted to reality - like an imaginary wolf finally arriving at the door, huffing and puffing to blow my house down. I think I've got it made of brick, built on good foundations as the child's song goes "A wise man builds his house upon the rock...a foolish man builds his house upon the sand..." But the forces of history are stronger than any hut I can build so I guess time will tell. Mqurice $80 by 31 August? Hmmm! Guess not... PS: Michael, Leland has been around for years! I haven't read your disputatious comments to each other yet, but an all time low was reached with Tai Chi and MarginMike animosity. I hope the low Q price doesn't translate into mayhem. I remain unconvinced that Qualcomm's IPR will gain for us the free market rewards we expect. Hence my raving about it and those crooks at L M Ericsson for a couple of years. Impenetrable Gregg might expect cmdaOne IPR to be, but the test will be in the political world where property rights of individuals have always been at the disposal of the political masters of the time. Not the courts. The courts don't control the guns, out the barrel of which power grows. Nilsson and L M Ericsson will steal if they can.
