DELL: How long do I hold DELL puts? MACD was so bullish and relative strength was bullish. Every volume indicator had bullish written on it. All moving averages are bullish. Even the gain was 10% in a month when 90% or more stocks lost this month..

Why then am I not bullish on DELL for the short term? I think the stock is so overbought. DELL has become an ICON a cherished place to deposit cash reserves when there is no other. How long can it last.. It's just a company. Okay it beat estimates but so did many others. Every day holding DELL puts is like dog years. It's down today it was down ysterday. Has it bottomed? Will it go up or down before the split.. Stay tuned to this thread for the never ending saga of DELL.

AMZN..Let the dirge begin! The internet have much downside left IMHO. AMZN will be the first to fall. I think the momentum plays have had it and now its the strong stocks with good earnings velocity going forward that will be the next leaders. Perhaps we can see a rally after labor day and some intraday 'dead cat bounce' rallies until then. I would use any rally to further short or buy puts on the internet sector.

AMZN losses have gone from -.01, -.02, -.06, -.08, -.16, -.19, -.22, -.44 These company officials have registered to sell AMZN:

08/18/98 TATE GEOFFREY 326 $27,700
08/07/98 SPIEGAL JOEL R 15,000 $2 Mil
08/06/98 COVEY JOY D 55,000 $4 Mil
08/06/98 ALBERG TOM A 65,000 $5 Mil
07/14/98 CAMPBELL WILLIAM 30,000 $4 Mil

Michael,

I don't think NDX will capitulate quickly for technical reasons. Qualitatively, 3rd quarter window dressing remains so there should be some retrace up for distribution. Additionally,

Mikey,

I am watching the buy programs kick in to calm the markets over the long weekend. Please confirm what stocks the blocks bought when the programs kicked in 15-20 mintues before the close.

Later.
