"I started to trade it well after the hype of the Cabot letter "

i have a trial subscription with them two years ago. look back
to their recommendations, most get kill:

prestek: stock of the decade.
pairgain
zoltek
cascade (droped to 25 before was bought by coms)
security dynamics
ascend (drops to 25 before recover recently and the only one could)
radisys: son of intel
vitesse semi: this one still doing well. i give them credit for that.

most of the above stocks were high fly.
watchout for stocks posted in IBD' new america pages too like:

Vista 2000: now is zero.
MRVC, proxim, premissy comm, sawtek, sandisk, adtran, teltrend,
ess technology, elantech semi, and more are now got kill too.

One of the worse magazine is Individual Investor and their
Magic 25 pofolios. Some are Biotec general, act network, informix,
vista 2000, procom, mrvc, etc. these got kill too.

I think in techs, you must to know when to buy and sell. long-term
is not reliable. only a few are proven: cisco, intel, microsoft,
tellabs.

Good luck if you were selecting stocks based on investment letters.
