Awww, he ought to be impeached anyway, but who wants Gore?

If it comes to that:

1) Clinton pardons dozens, including Gore for fundraising (if he wants it because it would be a huge political liability) and Hillary,

2) Clinton resigns,

3) Gore pardons Clinton (to Save the Country from the Pain, a la Nixon).

Note that if Gore takes over after January then he'll serve less than two years of Clinton's term, allowing him two terms of his own, God forbid. If he were to take over before that the Constitution would only allow him one term (two terms, ten years max).

If Clinton were impeached or resigned then Gore would be a caretaker president for a couple of years. Since he couldn't really do much as a caretaker the electorate might be fooled into thinking that he was a moderate instead of a radical environmentalist. This and the advantages of incumbancy (sp?) could get him elected.
