Short Coke! Coca-Cola made $1.64 in 1997. Earnings estimations are for $1.58 this year and (if they are not totally hurt by the Russia and Asia flu) they could earn $1.75 in 1999. That doesn't deserve a price earnings valuation of 50 in my view.
To quote Bill Meeham, Chief Market Analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald:
"History has shown that it is not a profitable investment strategy
to pay 50 times future earnings for a company that is growing 20%"
and in Coca-Cola's case this percentage is even less!!
Food and Beverage stocks have failed to shelter investors this summer.
My next target for Coke is $50.00!!

Happy trading,
Michael

Michael,
KO should go down not because ML downgraded the stock. I've learned from my short four year experience that you're the only expert, the rest are paying junkies. If you shorted KO, you should also short MSFT. Do your own research.
Good luck on KO and all,
Marty
