Mohan...Thanks for the summary..I don't get CNBC here but was wondering what she had to say....There are some analysts who have been saying the Blue Chippers had to give up some of their gains before the Market "correction" could be complete...From what I am gathering we ought to be nearing the bottom........Of course this is all short-term observation, long-term (my investment horizon) this current Market activity is but a glitch on the 5, 10, 15, 20 year charts.

Have a good weekend...

Regards, George

Just a quick comments on Russia.... as to the effect on the US. It's like a pimple on an elephant's butt.... not worth a damn. However, the key is the emotional affect of it. In my 12 years in the market, it functions on two emotions - fear on the way down and greed on the way up. Now, traders (not investors), think the sky is falling and want to get their money (why, if the sky is falling,I don't know !!). Their thinking is if it's Russia now, then it's Latin America next, Asia is already a problem, and on and on. Me on the other hand (and probably most of you), go into a store and see prices so nice that's it's difficult to resist. As I ride to the store, I see gas at 99 cents a gallon and I'm excited and I feel good. Compound this feeling by all the households units and you'll still have a good economy. The 'experts' say we're in a profits recession, I think you make a fair profit and sell more units - still make $$. Not everything works that well, but in general, that's my world. The sky isn't falling - this sell off is maybe overdue as in some ways having a sell off can be long term healthy by taking out the excesses that is created by a big bull market, but now I think it's probably near the bottom.
