Bill,
From my perspective, if Xoma was trying to determine if someone was shorting, and was doing this to determine the impact the type of financing deal they recently concluded has on stock prices, then I am all for it. That being said, my personal position in any security is still none of their damn business!

I see the company investigating short sellers to find if there is evidence of stock manipulation. There has to be a reason behind some of the misrepresentations purposely posted on Yahoo over the last several months. Xoma is more than capable of protecting herself and if I was one of the parties misrepresenting Xoma on Yahoo, I'd be more than a little nervous right now. Once again, as I see it, Xoma is very concerned about stock manipulation and as everyone knows there will be both civil and criminal charges if stock manipulation has occurred in regard to Xoma's stock.
