The Open Profiling System and more encompassing EP3 standards will accomplish all of this in an open format that should gain wide acceptance. Proprietary solutions will have appeal to some users that don't want their identities disclosed but will not offer the ease of use that a standard provides. Whenever the daxn W3C committe quits contemplating their navels and gets starts issuing standards that industry accepts (could there be politics involved? - naw MS, IBM, Oracle, Sun and Netscape, etc. don't play politics with critical consumer issues - yea right). I just hope that the big boys don't try to screw around with these standards so that the barriers or control is governed by the BIG BAD BLUES of the computer world!
