Stock Picking Contest

I can't remember which Amigo did so well in our thread's last stock picking contest, but I thought I'd inform you that we are starting another one. All are welcome to enter.

Please post picks here: ...http://www.exchange2000.com/~wsapi/investor/Subject-11011

Regards,

Paul

ZSTOCK CONTEST DEADLINE IS AUG. 31st

Don't forget about Zbonus Pick
exchange2000.com

Contest begins at the market open 9-1-98 and ends on 10-30-98
at the market close. Beginning price will be the price of the
stock at the close on 8-31-98.

Everyone is welcome to enter and this includes lurkers and or
non-SI members.

Two (2) stocks will be picked by each participant. Please make
sure that your picks are quoted on Yahoo, since the daily
updates are generated from this site.

The stock must be priced over $5.00, therefore no "penny"
stocks.

A stock cannot be sold once it has been entered into the
contest, even if it no longer looks attractive to the contestant.
This is a buy and hold contest.

This contest is not a reflection of one's trading abilities since
stocks must be held throughout the duration of the contest.

Contestants are encouraged, but not required, to provide a
short T/A (technical analysis) and or F/A (fundamental analysis)
of their stocks. Basically a rationale as to why you picked these
particular stocks.

The winner of the contest will be the individual who has the
largest percent increase in their two (2) stocks averaged
together, at the end of the contest on 10-30-98.

The winner will be awarded a prize to be determined at a later
date.

Please private mail picks to me, or email to paulzim@abilene.com

Ken,
All is well here in Florida....<whew!> I think it hit Wall street!

Boggles my mind how the media, and money managers, are making things worse than they really are. Granted Russia is in rough shape, but what do they buy from us? Or better yet, what do we buy from them? Vodka? Sure the banks took their risks, and they'll take there losses,<our losses> but does that warrant the bloodbath the markets have taken? Its like everywhere you look there is another reason for the markets to have an excuse to go lower.....At a time when most americans do not save money in banks, but invest their capital in the stock market. I cant help but think that Mr. Greenspan is going to have to step in and drop that magic number for us soon. Then the rally will again begin! Sounds good doesnt it? >gg<.....

Ive never shorted a stock Ken, I dont think I know how, but I think you are doing the right thing in this market. They say the trend is your friend eh?.....Looks like you'd be in the right camp!

Im waiting until after Labor Day to start my shopping for stocks.....I like what Abbey Cohen said today, her forecast of 9000 by the end of the year, sounds great to me.
