This is starting to remind me of the late 70's and early 80's. The company I worked for had sold some computers to China and we could not collect in currency so they sent diamonds, jade, etc. in payment of 10x our dollar billing. I went down to corporate headquarters and bought some of this stash for 10 cents on the dollar. One of the best deals I have run into in my life time. All the company wanted was their $'s and we were turning the stash for a good profit.<ggg>

I wonder if these banks thought of backing the loans with Russian commodities?
