Bobby - It's tough! I wish we could all be millionaires! But, I won't be so bold as you to predict how long this rally will continue - Anymore, oversold, and overbought, are just ambiguous terms - you know that...

Inside, I think we are in deep long-term trouble. But, when things get as "oversold" as now, I've just got to buy it!

It's crazy what's going on with our society, our President, our world, our stock market, our people, our morals....etc...

Have you ever read anything by Iben Browning? He says we are a nation of civilized barbarians and have the best chances of surviving all the turmoil of the 90's. (Barbarians are the most likely to survive tough times!) Who knows what's next? But, I've got to have faith in America! I still think we're the greatest country in the world. And, you and I can converse freely and confrontationally, and nobody suffers - I continue to learn a lot from you and everyone else that disagrees with me...

Best regards, Skipperr

Ok Bobby,

You made a believer out of me. But what I want to know is would you look for a small pop to short, or would you short anything that moves now at any level?

Some thoughts...

Many stocks gapped down today...that is if the charts I am seeing are up-to-date. Looks like they could close em easily. Especially the internut stocks.

SHORT DELL? No way man...that is *THE* Aunt Harriet stock, and that means if I am wrong I will get run over, man. Like...the Aunt Harriets are the last to figure out the bear, ya know!

Guys on the Asia thread are saying that HKMA has the funds to buy HALF the outstanding float on the Hang Seng. They suggest that the other half could be bought buy China. Wouldn't that mean the short squeeze of the century if the Hedge funds are so heavily short?

So question, will the Gov. win, and if not, what is the downside here if the peg breaks?

Ciao.

B.

bb,
Your timing on the long and short side has been great.
What is troubling me is that now too many people are in the camp that we rally and then crash! It is never that easy where the majority can be right is it?Right now I don't know how to play the game so I guess I am alone on the sidelines. ;( I do think the volatility will continue into Oct. but I am too chicken to initiate puts unless we rally hard past 8500-8600...maybe a straddle?...I don't think this market will die so quickly.FWIW Bill has kept me from buying puts for many months now, thank goodness,as I have thought this market was absurd all year.
Personally, I have been hearing about some redemptions from an insitutional broker. I forgot to bookmark the site that shows money flow for the funds...could you please post it?
Regards,
Barbara
