I suspect the Russian people might might often think "it would be nice to be able to be able to concern ourselves with reestablishing the seriously degenerating moral integrity of our leaders, rather than having to worry about how to get food for next week. If we ever get to where food is plentiful we'll be sure to guard carefully the institutions that got us to that point." A leader that cares only about saving his own legacy, to the extent that HE BELIEVES he can, and he does lie to his family, his cabinet, his congress, his courts, and his constituents with impunity needs to be removed to protect such an institution.
