scba, You got it. I think Russia called them selves socialists. United Soviet Socialist Republics - USSR Only one political party. The Communist Party. It was a dictatorship. I don't believe this was what Marx envisioned from my shallow understanding of the subject. I also don't think what Marx envisioned is workable on a large scale. Only on a small scale where everyone wants it to work. Even at that I seem to remember reading about all the failed utopia experiments in the 20s and 30s. But enough of that. I am not an expert on the topic. More of a PBS version of history watcher then a real student in that area. Come to think of it, some excellent programs could be put together on the subject. NW
