Posted by permission Here are my two stock picks for the contest. First I would like to establish that I am a new investor and learn more and more each day about the market. I do find that the more learn about the market the more I find that I don't know. Seeing that this is a buy and hold contest for a 30 day period I decided to pick one stock that is in serious trouble and therefore has the potential for a very large gain. "MRVC". I know little about this stock I have only spent a short time doing DD on it. But the one thing that jumped out at me on picking this stock is that it has gone from $39 1/4 to a low of $6.00 in a very short time. The thing that attracts me is that there is very very limited sales from insiders. I think that this stock could possibly be a panic sale and is being shorted by the market therefore causing the stock to plummet. My other pick is "AOL". This stock has consistently been a good performer and I think is a victim of a bear market where fear has caused the institutions to take there profits in. Best of luck to all. I don't expect to win but I do expect to have fun. By the way. I had my first daytrading experience on Friday 8/28/98 and did quit well.
