S has to pay for mall rent. The average US consumer is heavily in debt. I'm not too sure retail will pick up dramatically like others are forecasting. If retail picks up I think it will be more on the low end retail sector which would hurt S. Also, S diversified to compete with Autozone. Remember their foray into Parts America. That turned out to be a bust! ...and their Home Life stores are now up for sale. I like the odds!
