Charliss, I love the Big Sur area, it is one of my favorite spots. I have never sailed offshore there, and I imagine it is a bit tricky with all of the currents and the rocky shore.

Not a golfer, either, nor have I had a golf ball hit my luffing sail. Undoubtedly, this will happen sometime when I run out of every other imaginable way to lose a race.

Hi Charliss:

Loved your post. In 3 straight sentences you managed to mention 3 of my favorite things: favorite sport: golf, favorite golf book: 'Golf in the Kingdom', favorite place: Big Sur! I live just a few long 3-woods up the coast from Big Sur (on Monterey Peninsula near Pebble Beach Links). I have driven by the Esalen Institute numerous times, and have always been very curious about the workshops offered there, especially after reading Michael Murphy's book, but have yet to wander in. Would certainly be very interested to hear more about your experiences there. BTW: I hear there are plans to turn the book into a movie in the near future.

Cheers

Mike
