"This is Mr. Pink's last post here. His job is done. He has upgraded
MRVC to a single turd and will sit on His short position" --- Pink

WJ:
I would like to add a few remarks to this debacle:

Mr. Pink is not smarter than anyone here. He was just "connected" on
the street, and had early information. His name was published a while
back in the Wall Street Journal. He was quoted as saying he plays this game for fun. Note he hinted some SEC investigation of MRVC, NOT a revenue shortfall...he would not share his REAL info.
He is a professional, he was short this stock, and he worked this thread to spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt (fud), in order to make
himself money. Note he said: "His job is done." He knew the revenue
shortfall was coming, but he didn't tell us that, and he wanted to magnify the stock's loss. He did not say anything that would get him
into trouble. We will see him again, under another alias.

My opinions: Mrvc is a good, not great company. All companies go through product transitions and 2 or 3 down quarters from time to time. Now mrvc is a good value. It will come back.

The markets are rigged against the little guy. The connected
guys get the information first, sometimes weeks in advance, sometimes
hours.

I have my own rules which I break at my own peril:

Never buy on margin
Never touch options
Never short
Never invest more than 5% of the portfolio in 1 stock
If 1 stock grows to 15% or more of the portfolio, take profits till it
is back to 10%
Be a long term investor, trade as little as possible.
You will not get rich over a 10 year period in the market.
Buy companies that are best in their niche when they are down.

Thus, over the next few months, look at MSFT(software operating system), INTC(microprocessors), AMAT(chip equipment), Csco,Lucent,Nortel(networking, telecom), Wind (embedded operating systems), Uniphase(telecom lasers), lltc& mxim(analog chips), altr&xlnx(pld chips), EMC(data storage), qcom(cdma mobile)

I have taken a big hit in this market, and do not have much more money
to invest now. I expect the DOW to fall to 7400. Greenspan will ease rates. Then the small caps with good earnings will come back first.

This is all my humble opinion, and you are welcome to disagree.
